Escalating war between Israel and the Gaza strip results to many deaths

Atrocities between Israel and the Gaza Strip have escalated resulting to several deaths on both sides.   An apartment that was shelled by the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip caused death to three innocent occupants.  At the Gaza Strip, a young boy and his pregnant aunt perished when an explosion ripped through their home.  The clashes, after 22 days, resulted in the death of around 1,200 Palestinians on attacks made by Israel.

The seemingly major and bitter confrontation has caused fears in Tel Aviv as long-range rockets have been fired at the capital.  The city of Rishon Lezion, which just around 40 miles north of the Gaza Strip has been also hit by long-range rockets.  No damages were reported.  The conflict is expected to worsen as the Hamas group does not have intentions to back down.  Will Israel succeed in trying its best to lower civilian casualties as it had learned its lesson in the past?

Car Insurance

In protection of life and property, insurance is one of the best ways to make sure your life  and investments are secured for a certain amount.  The cost of premium is negligible when considering how much insurance could save compared to purchasing an equivalent, like an automobile.  Automobile insurance is tops when it comes to making a car secure.  A car is exposed to many hazards and risks especially when used every day.  From minor accidents to total loss, insurance defrays a considerable amount of money for repairs and third party liabilities.

Comprehensive car insurance also includes what is called “own damage” which means that an accidental car damage by the owner is covered.  In this case, there is no third party involved in the accident.  Having this type of automotive insurance coverage comes as a big relief when fortuitous events happen and beyond anyone’s control.

For third party liabilities such as passengers and pedestrians, insurance provided is like personal accident insurance.  On some occasions, accidents happen to pedestrians even when a driver is  not at fault or was not negligent.  Though the amount covering per person is limited, whatever the insured is entitled to claim for the victims will be of big help in hospitalization costs or even burial costs in case of death.  Read More . . .

New Zealand denies visa to Filipino mother whose son was murdered

I really appreciated how New Zealand was promoted at Discovery Channel by no less than their Prime Minister.  But I lost the appreciation and respect to New Zealand after they denied the mother of Warren Rosillo, 18 years old, who was brutally stabbed and murdered by a 17 year-old jealous male.  She probably last saw her son at 13 years old before he left for New Zealand to join his father estranged to his biological mother.

No effort was made by the father, as far as I know, to help the
mother to at least see her dear departed son for the last time.  New Zealand immigration denied the mother the visa because she did not have enough show money.  Are those idiots still after money and no show of compassion?  Do they mean "show money" we show compassion?  They are corrupt in a way to look for money!  What kind of animals are with the New Zealand immigration?

I firmly hope and wish that what you did to the mother also happens to you.  Your grief will be a gazillion times more than what Warren Rosillo's mother felt!  You are inflexible idiots who do not care about parents' feelings in times like that!  Your souls will burn in hell to the point that even Satan will not recognize you!

Pacquiao vs. Mosley post-fight comments

The wait for the Pacquiao vs. Mosley bout has been long awaited and the results were not as good as the previous fights of Manny Pacquiao.  Why?  It's true what Pacquiao said, "Mosley did not want to fight".  After the knockdown of Mosley on the 3rd round, he was too cautious that he hardly engaged Manny Pacquiao in real good boxing.  He admitted that the punches were the hardest he received in his entire boxing career!

Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley are good friends that made the fight uneventful.  It was the only bout you could notice that Pacquiao would make the sign of the cross before the start of each round.  Maybe he did not want to hurt Mosley and their frequent 'touch-gloves' seemed to be the sign!  The fall of Manny on the 10th round was not a knockdown because Mosley stepped on his foot causing him to fall!

It was only after that, that Manny got real aggressive and showed again his trademark of 'slapping his gloves'.  Had the referee not made the mistake of calling it a knockdown, it might have been a lesser fight than it was.  Obviously, Shane Mosley was just fighting for survival from a knockout or TKO.  He had to preserve his record of not having lost in a fight due to a KO or TKO!  This would make one wonder if he really deserves to be a Hall of Famer for that record.

NBA predictions and critics

LeBron James decided to move to the Miami Heat for the 2010-2011 NBA season.  Critics were quick to make comments that it did not look good for  both Lebron and Dwayne Wade because they are both superstars in their own right and acknowledged by many.  At the start of the season, critics said they were right as the Heat were not performing as expected.  They had too many to blame for that!  I think it even came to the point that they were blaming the coach!

Now that the Miami Heat is in the play-offs, I was wondering why those critics' mouths, pens or keyboards are shut!  As of this writing, semis show 2 wins for the Heat and nil for the Celtics.  The performance of Miami Heat, and the seemingly perfect combination of Lebron and Dwayne, has choked them!

Going to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, Michael Jordan boldly predicted early that Derrick Rose of Chicago Bulls would be the one.  Critics had it again that MJ's prediction was 'weird'!  Okay, so who is weird now?  Derrick Rose got the MVP and the critics are again dumbfounded!  With all of that, NBA sports critics really do not understand the game much more the people 'in-the-game'!  All they understand is whatever negative they say or publish it makes money for them!  They do not care at all!

As one NBA coach said to the reporters in a post play-off conference,  he said, "Nobody likes you, right?"

What kind of a Wife?

Yes, many women and wives complain about men or their husbands.  But have they ever looked at themselves even while putting on those make-up and ask how good they are?  Take these acts that they do and even justify the injustice they do to their family and husbands:
  1. Go out on the premise of going to church that takes 4 hours or more with a special son.  Then motions to the son to keep quiet because they go play Bingo or something else after the mass.
  2. Says she's getting old and near 'death' and wants to be with other relatives rather than her own immediate family.
  3. Will watch TV or Soap Opera and does not care about dinner whether it's cooked or burned, or just about anything else.  It's TV or nothing!
  4. Does not have time to serve dinner then leaves dishes unwashed overnight or until the next meal.
  5. Would be with colleagues, friends or batch mates and does not bother if her family has food to eat.
  6. Would lie to her teeth even if it is obvious that she has lied and keeps on changing her version of lies.
  7. Could not do her own work evaluation and asks hubby to do it for her.
  8. Has an IR at work and asks hubby to respond to it for her.
  9. Fixes the bed, have the sheets and blankets for laundry but neglects to put replacement blanket.
  10. Has all the time and funds to put in calls or text messages to others except for the husband.
  11. After being with female friends, separated wives from husbands goes totally cold and dry in bed.  Husband loses interest in sex because it's like doing it with a corpse!
  12. Could not explain where money earned by hubby was spent and why.  She rather spends for whims than what is necessary.
  13. Keeps on doing what is inappropriate or ill-advised even after several reminders or notices.
  14. Does not take leave of absence from work in critical situations of her immediate family but can easily take that leave of absence from work to enjoy time with other relatives!
Those are just a few that men or husbands have to deal with.  If both spouses have almost equal IQ and wits, debates will be to no end.  If the wife is inferior, uses it as an excuse and makes it appear that the husband is domineering or brutal!  But, if the husband is inferior or hen-pecked, he will just have to be sorry for it.  Warning to wives:  He may be inferior and hen-pecked but you will never know how and when gets back at you!

Holy Week different dates every year

Around the globe every year , people of different Christian denominations honor the Holy Week for Jesus Christ's suffering, death and resurrection.  The Holy Week holidays differ from dates and months every year, so does the date and month for Ash Wednesday.  It is always 46 days before Easter Sunday and kicks off the 40 day Lenten season.  My curiosity of the different dates and months has been there for years but it is only now that I have researched on it online.

It has been a question in my mind because: why is it that the birth of Jesus Christ was fixed on December 25 while His suffering, death and resurrection were not?  On my research it says that: "Easter can never occur before March 22 or later than April 25;  Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox; this particular ecclesiastical full moon is the 14th day of a tabular lunation (new moon); and the vernal equinox is fixed as March 21".  With this, that the ecclesiastical system does not follow the astronomical system when it comes to full moon.  They (churches) have not considered the complexity of the lunar motion.

The research was getting too technical with references to vernal equinox, Gregorian or pre-Gregorian tables, Julian Calendar, and so on and so forth.  What I really wanted to find out is: how is it related to the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ?  I do not recall anything taught in our Catholic religion classes about the full moon during that time with Jesus (or maybe I was absent when it was taken up in class).

I am not a very religious and biblical person, so I would not really have a good knowledge about it.  It seems that the information available online was just for calendars and full moons about the Holy Week holidays' different dates. Nothing at all on how it is related to the death of Jesus Christ.

Japan's Earthquake, Tsunami & other earlier tremors

Earthquakes have been too frequent in the past 30 days and many have been violent.  Japan's 8.9 magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunami as high as 10 meters that devastated the city of Sendai.  Some nuclear power plants have also been affected and an oil refinery is on fire.

Just for the month of March 2011, New Zealand, China and Japan have been hit by violent earthquakes within 11 days.  I cannot recall anything similar to this chain of devastating tremors in the past.  It is very alarming because the earths crust and plates could be shifting.  Observations have come up that tremors of large magnitude may have an effect for volcanos to erupt.

A documentary at Discovery Channel has shown that subduction zones can trigger volcanic eruptions.

Middle East Unrest

For many years, it seemed that the Middle East was the least to have any unrest problems.  Most of those countries were anti-Israel only and nothing more.  The OPEC Middle East countries have all the money they want and can support each and every citizen!  The recent toppling of Egypts and Tunisias rulers by civil unrest is surprising.  Now it's Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi, who has ruled the nation for 41 years, that is having a problem.

News reports say that he has been using his militia with foreign mercenaries to quell the unrest.  Gadhafi is blaming Osama bin Laden for this and has denounced the September 11 bombings!  He could be right because bin Laden knows the world is still in recession and uprising in the OPEC nations could worsen it, making things more difficult!  Libya's Gadhafi was once the target of the U.S. for terrorist activities and training terrorists of other nations.  Putting the blame on bin Laden by Gadhafi is a move to get the U.S. and other nations on his side!

The problem is a cousin of Gadhafi, who is one of his closest aides, Ahmed Gadhaf al-Dam, has defected to Egypt.  He holds one of the highest position in Libya who defected so far, after several ambassadors around the world, the justice minister and the interior minister all sided with the protesters. Gadhaf al-Dam denounced the crackdown as "grave violations of human rights and international laws".

Should the uprising continue and spread in the Middle East oil prices would soar and what would happen with the OPEC nations remains a question.  A stop of production by these oil-producing nations can set back the world to further recession.
